The Carl F Bucherer watch may not be a knowledgeable lavishness watch brand to all but the enthusiastic watch collector but it is a luxury brand with a repute for producing exclusive timepieces of preeminence.
The Carl F Bucherer brand was established in the Swiss city of Lucerne in 1888 as a creator of luxury watches and jewellery by Carl F Bucherer and his wife Luise. In turn their sons Carl-Edward and Ernst continued to extend the luxury brand, both having been educated in the watchmaking and goldsmith professions.
In 1919 after the war, a collection of stunning ladies wristwatches was revealed. These beautiful watch accessories were rapidly snapped up since their first launch into the market, and they have brought to the Bucherer’s reputable fame as a imaginative and trendy watchmaker. A range of men’s watches followed and these chronograph and big date watches were practical and extremely sought after.
The Second World War has seen the soaring fame of Carl F Bucherer for their ideal quality when U.S servicemen passed through Switzerland and lots of them backed these magnificent timepieces.
The brand taken in a further endorsement when U.S. President Richard Nixon traveled to the Bucherer shop in 1964 and left as a striking owner of a new Bucherer chronograph.
In 1976 a third generation of family participation went forward under Jorg Bucherer. After the Renaissance of the popularity of the mechanical wristwatch in the 1990’s, Bucherer luxury wristwatches once again brought out advanced timepieces such as the Archimedes Perpetual Calendar.
Now Jorg Bucherer is still the owner of the brand. Following a company rebrand these exquisite Swiss watches once again hold the name of the father Carl F Bucherer.
